چکیده

The marketability of cut flowers relies on its postharvest longevity, making it crucial to develop technologies that canextend vase life. life in chrysanthemum is dependent upon floret senescence and leaf yellowing. In view ofextending the life, present study elucidates implication plant growth regulators viz. benzyl adenine (BA),thidiazuron (TDZ) salicylic acid (SA) performance flower longevity stems. Theharvested stems were treated with various concentrations BA SA at 50,100,150 200 μM TDZ 5,10,15and 20 μM. Treatments containing 10 100 most effective improving (23.35 and20.32 days respectively) However, outplayed followed by extends flowerlongevity through maintenance higher physiological biochemical characteristics. Cluster analysis inferred thetreatments 50 and100 5 and10 found be efficient delaying (24.01 days)and yellowing (20.54 days) Postharvest exhibited a positive correlation withantioxidant activities, total soluble sugars proteins, while showed negative anthocyanin andcarotenoid contents. results have demonstrated use such as adenine, thidiazuron andsalicylic may preserve quality delay their senescence.

Physio-biochemical and Enzymatic Responses of Sunflower to Drought Stress

Drought stress is a serious adverse factor that limits sunflower growth and productivity. The stress induces a range of physiological and biochemical responses in sunflower. So, evaluation of defense systems is important for producing resistant cultivars. In this study, physio-biochemical changes and antioxidant enzymes activitiesof six sunflower lines were evaluated under normal and irrigation...

Physiological responses of peppermint (Mentha piperita L.) to plant growth regulators and salinity stress

Salinity of soil is a major abiotic stress limiting the crop production and growth of peppermint. The aim of study was assessment the plant growth regulators efficacy (salicylic acid (SA), jasmonic acid (JA), brassinosteroids (BRs), and non-application of hormone as control) on physiological traits of peppermint under salinity stress (0, 30, and 60 mM). The experiment was conducted using the co...

Responses of Photosynthesis to Stress and Plant Growth Regulators

In this paper the response of photosynthesis to stress independently or in combination with other stresses is considered. Some mechanisms by means of photosynthetic apparatus is acclimated to respective stress and enhanced its thermotolerance as well as the role of some heat shock proteins (HSP70, HSP21) and plant growth regulators (polyamines ABA) are also discussed.

Chrysanthemum Cutting Productivity and Rooting Ability Are Improved by Grafting

Chrysanthemum has been commercially propagated by rooting of cuttings, whereas the quality will decline over multiple collections from a single plant. Therefore, we compared the vigour, rooting ability, and some physiological parameters between cuttings harvested from nongrafted "Jinba" (non-grafted cuttings) with those collected from grafted "Jinba" plants onto Artemisia scoparia as a rootstoc...

Response of Germination and Seedling Growth of Pepper cultivars to Seed Priming by Plant Growth Regulators

In order to study the germination and growth of pepper seeds, a factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with three replications was conducted. The first factor was consisting of five cultivars of pepper (Marquiza, Cadia, California Wonder, California Wonder 310 and California Wonder 300) and the second factor was gibberellic acid with three levels (0 as control, 250 and 500...
